Chocolate Covered Bacon

  • 12 slices thick cut bacon
  • 10 oz good quality dark chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or shortening


  1. Preheat oven to 400℉. Place a wire rack in a rimmed baking sheet.

  2. Place bacon slices on the wire rack and bake for 15-20 minutes until bacon is crispy. Let cool.

  3. While bacon is cooking, prepare chocolate. In a heat-proof glass bowl, melt chocolate, vanilla, and coconut oil together until smooth, stopping to stir every 30 seconds. Keep warm.

  4. Dip cooked bacon slices into the chocolate using a spoon to coat completely. Lay on wire rack and sprinkle with garnish.
